New Blog (again!)

Hey, I was just looking through my old blog and looking at how many posts that said 'I haven't posted anything for a while...'. To be honest my old admin was a bit archaic because I didn't have enough time to devote to setting up a really good, easy, blogging system so I have succumbed to using somebody else's service and integrated into my own site. I should have done it years ago but I am such a stickler for doing things the hard way!

Well I have good reason for making things easy for myself, with the forthcoming adoption I don't think I'll have time to make things hard for myself and also I am very eager to post about the latest happenings with my tree.

Family Reunion

Me with sister Dawn and second cousin Sam at the White Hart pubFor ages now I have been working on dad's side of the tree and finding it hard going. Because of my granddad dying while I was very young I have had no close person of reference further than my dad and sometimes its just hard to ask the right questions.

With everything going on with the adoption I left the tree alone for quite a while, putting all e-mails to one side. Recently when I had a little time I went through my e-mails and I did notice that I had quite a few e-mails from one particular person so I replied and after a short while realised how close this person was.

Dad with his cousin CynthiaSo now I have a 'new' 2nd cousin! I am so pleased! we have met twice now and have had a lovely time on both occasions. Yesterday we introduced the cousins (my dad and Sam's mum) Cynthia to each other and also visited dad's Uncle Des & Aunt Kath whom I can only vaguely remember.

With our combined efforts we have managed to peel away some layers of the family tree and Cynthia is pleased to have found some new family that she never knew she had.

I look forward to meeting with my new family again!
